Here's how Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul responded to Karan Johar's apology
Mumbai: With Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul receiving a temporary relief after their suspension was provisionally lifted on Thursday, ‘Koffee with Karan’ host Karan Johar revealed that the duo were gracious to him when he apologised.
Pandya made the headlines for the wrong reasons earlier this month when he made a controversial sexist remark on the show, which also featured Rahul.
He was therefore not included in India’s ODI squad for the recently-concluded series against Australia, but will fly to New Zealand for the ODI and T20I series following the provisional withdrawal of the ban.
"I messaged them apologising and the two of them were gracious to me and they were like 'this is not your fault',” the 46-year-old film producer told India Today.
"I never thought they messed up. The episode was as per the frivolous nature of the show. I thought they were conforming to the prerequisites of the show. I didn't think they'd get in trouble. I am feeling guilty, it was my platform, my show and they came as guests,” he added.
"People said you could have edited it, I didn't realise it. There are so many women of the show, nobody realised it. But if we have offended people, we have to apologise," he continued.
Karan also revealed how his mother responded on the much-heated issue.
"My mother was so upset with me, she is a big Hardik Pandya fan and she was sulking and telling me 'how could you do this to him? I said I didn't do anything'. The one woman I offended was my own mother,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rahul is set to feature for India A for their last three one-dayers against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram.
