Sumanth captain of Ranji Trophy side

With Hyderabad have no realistic chance of making the knockouts they sit third with 15 points behind Karnataka.

Hyderabad: Kolla Sumanth will lead the Hyderabad Ranji Trophy team in their sixth and last round match against Delhi beginning at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium from Friday.

With Hyderabad have no realistic chance of making the knockouts — they sit third with 15 points behind Karnataka (26) and Delhi (24) — regular captain A. T. Rayudu has been rested for the inconsequential match in preparation for the limited overs competition.

Districts dash
The inclusion of T. Sukanth from Warangal in the team meant a player from the districts has broken into the Hyderabad side after 15 years — after S. Vishnuvardhan and Mohammed Ghouse.

Vishnuvardhan is a current member of the HCA Senior Selection Committee. Sukanth had scored 90 against Air India in the all-India Moin-ud Dowla tournament held earlier this year.

The Team: Sumanth Kolla (captain), P. Akshath Reddy, Tanmay Agarwal, K. Rohith Rayudu, B. Sandeep, Akash Bhandari, T. Ravi Teja, M. Ravi Kiran, Mohd Mudassar Hussain, Pragyan Ojha, Mehdi Hasan, Saket Sai Ram, Sudeep Tyagi, KSK Chaitanya (wicketkeeper), Himalay Agarwal, T. Sukanth (Warangal district). Support staff: J. Arun Kumar (coach), Bhism Pratap Singh (physio), Naveen Reddy (trainer), Santosh B. M. (video analyst).
