Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh rally behind Virat Kohli after Donald Trump comparisons

An Australian daily had termed Team India skipper Virat Kohli the Donald Trump of world sport.

Mumbai: Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif have came out in support of Virat Kohli after an Australian daily compared him with the US President Donald Trump.

"Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport," read a report in The Daily Telegraph.

"Just like President Trump, Kohli decided to blame the media as a means of trying to hide the egg smeared right across his face. The Indian captain is a law unto himself with no one, not even the ICC or his own board holding him accountable for his continual perpetuation of fake news," added the report.

Yuvraj, who is almost certain to be picked for the upcoming Champions Trophy, said that the comparison is “a big compliment”.

"It's a big compliment for Virat if Aussie media is comparing him with Trump. It means he is the best," Yuvraj was quoted as saying by India Today.

Earlier, Bollywoood superstar Amitabh Bachchan had taken a sarcastic dig at the Australian media for comparing the Indian skipper with the US President. Bachchan had taken to Twitter, saying:

Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Donald Trump, India vs Australia

However, when Mohammad Kaif was asked on Twitter about the comparison, he came up with what could be the most befitting reply. Kaif had tweeted

Mohammad Kaif, Donald Trump, Virat Kohli
