Dubai: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi had a dream start in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) here on Friday, playing a very important role in Karachi Kings’ win over Quetta Gladiators.
Not only he took one wicket in the match, but his blinder of a catch was a turning point in the Gladiators’ run chase.
Umar Amin of Gladiators was the unlucky batsman as Afridi took a stunner to dismiss the batsman for 31 runs.

Afridi’s intention might have just been to avoid six runs as the ball looked set to go beyond the ropes but took a mind-blowing catch despite him dropping the ball at the boundary rope but taking a successful catch after coming back from the boundary line.
That catch by ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi meant to be a crucial point in the match, as Amin looked set to score a fifty. In the end, it was Karachi Kings who triumphed in the match, beating Quetta comprehensively by 19 runs.
