South Africa vs India, 3rd T20: MS Dhoni all set to create another record at Newlands
Cape Town: Breaking records have become a habit for Indian players on the current South Africa tour. While Virat Kohli has made it a habit of breaking broken records, Mahendra Singh Dhoni got his name in the record books recently for most dismissal in the T20 format. The former skipper is ready to add one more record to his illustrious career.
Dhoni who already has 49 dismissals to his name is set to complete a half-century of catches during the third and final Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Saturday.
West Indies' wicket-keeper Dinesh Ramdin is placed at number two in the list with 32 catches and is way behind Dhoni. South Africa's Quinton de Kock is at number three with 30 catches.
He will also head the list in terms of dismissal via stumping if he manages to make four stumpings. Dhoni is currently having 29 dismissals to his name and has a chance to overtake Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal, who leads the list with 32 stumpings.
In terms of total dismissals (catches and stumpings), Dhoni leads the list with 78 dismissals in total, while Akmal is at number two spot with 60 dismissals. The 36-year-old has is arguably the best wicket-keeper the game has ever seen.
