Asia Cup: Rain threat looms over India-Bangla opener

However, it remains to be seen whether MS Dhoni takes the field against Mashrafe Mortaza's boys.

Mirpur: The Asia Cup opener between India and Bangladesh, first time in the T20 format, could be spoiled by rain as heavy showers kissed the city on Wednesday.

Though the weather has been partly cloudy since Wednesday morning but according to sources, it has been drizzling since noon — few hours before the match.

The overcast conditions worried cricket experts and journalists at the venue. They took to social media to inform the spectators about the conditions.

Commentator Harsha Bhogle posted a photo outside his window in Dhaka.

Former India wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta also expressed his concern. He uploaded few photographs from his Facebook profile.

The Indian fans, still doubtful whether they will see MS Dhoni or Parthiv Patel behind the wickets, will be disappointed if the match is called off. This was a perfect platform to avenge their ODI series loss in 2015.
