India vs England, 3rd Test: Parthiv Patel replaces Wriddhiman Saha

Saha advised rest after he strained his left thigh during India's win in the Visakhapatnam Test

Mumbai: Parthiv Patel replaced injured wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha in the Indian side for the third Test against England in Mohali. The third Test of the five-match Test series will commence on Saturday, November 26.

“BCCI medical team confirms that India wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha developed a strain in his left thigh during the second match of the five match Paytm Test Series-2016, played against England at Visakhapatnam,” said the Indian cricket board its media release on Wednesday.

“As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest and will not play in the next Test match of the series,” added BCCI.

"Parthiv Patel will replace Saha in the Indian team for the third Test to be played from November 26, 2016, at Mohali," concluded BCCI.

The diminutive Gujarat wicketkeeper-batsman last represented India in Test cricket 8 years ago in 2008 when Sri Lanka hosted India in Colombo.
