HMRL extends Metro service on match day

The frequency of trains to and from the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal is also expected to increase

HYDERABAD: With the city gearing up for the T20 match between India and Australia, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced extended rail service which will run till 12.30 am on Sunday, September 25. The frequency of trains to and from the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal is also expected to increase.

Meanwhile, the HMRL has signed an MOU with a private agency on Thursday to celebrate the one million rides with plans to scale up their feeder services enhancing the first and last mile connectivity. N.V.S. Reddy, Managing Director, HMRL said “It is currently operational at Metro stations — Miyapur, LB Nagar, Raidurg, Mettuguda, Uppal serving more than 3,000 commuters per day”.

In a statement late in the evening Reddy apologised for saying that any defacing of the Metro primises will invite six months’ imprisonment during his speech at the signing of the MoU.
