'Lucky' Dhoni keeps wickets with blurred vision

A bail hit Dhoni's right eye during the third T20 against Zimbabwe.

Harare: India overcame last-ball scare to win the third and final T20 of the series against Zimbabwe on Wednesday in Harare.

While India managed to cross the finish line, MS Dhoni-the batsman could not offer much with the bat in the T20 series.

Dhoni, who could not power India to victory in opening T20, was bowled in the 17th over by Donald Tiripano after Dhoni had made 9 runs from 14 balls .

With India searching for quick runs, Dhoni tried to loft one over the infield. However, he could not connect as well as he would have liked and inside edge dragged the ball onto the stumps. The bails went flying and one, managing to sneak through Dhoni’s helmet grill, hit Dhoni’s right eye.

While Dhoni did not look comfortable as he walked back to the dressing room, the extent of injury was not clear. He, in fact, also called for eye drops in the final over of the game.

However, the Indian limited-overs skipper, who is not too active on social media, shared a picture highlighting the seriousness of the injury.

Dhoni wrote: “That's what happens when u get hit by bails, lucky only had to keep wickets with blurred vision and pain.”
