Hyderabad: With Sunrisers Hyderabad going down to Chennai Super Kings by four runs, the home fans have turned their wrath on umpire Vineet Kulkarni who may have missed a no-ball during the tense final moments.
Had Shardul Thakur’s waist-high full toss — which SRH batsman Yusuf Pathan played back to the bowler in the 18th over — been called a no-ball, the hosts would have got a run, an extra ball and a free hit.
All of this comes into context since the hosts lost by a one stroke margin — anything could’ve happened on that extra ball. Fans took to twitter to hit out at the umpire. “Vineet Kulkarni should have done this. But he chose to become the 12th man for CSK,” wrote one.“That umpire should visit an Ophthalmologist immediately,” commented another while yet another wanted the BCCI to monitor the umpire.
