Virat Kohli calls off Rs 34 crore Mumbai home deal, may buy a penthouse
Mumbai: While their wedding in Italy and the twin receptions in New Delhi and Mumbai were lavish affairs, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma’s 34-crore possible home in Mumbai generated quite a buzz as the two tied the knot in December last year.
It was known that the Team India skipper and his Bollywood superstar wife had shortlisted a luxury apartment in Omkar Realtors and Developers’ Omkar 1973 project in Mumbai. However, it is now reported that the two will not move to the apartment as the deal is called off and the Indian cricket team skipper is now planning to buy a home in Mumbai’s Western suburbs; somewhere between Bandra and Versova.
According to The Economic Times report, the cancellation deed was prepared on March 20, Tuesday and registered the next day, Wednesday.
Back in 2016, Kohli had purchased a whopping 7,000 square feet apartment on the 35th floor of Tower C of the Omkar 1973 project.
Recently, it was learnt Kohli and Anushka were staying in a rented apartment in Raheja Legend in Worli, Mumbai on Dr Annie Besant Road and were paying a rent of Rs 15 lakh a month.
It was reported that the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper has already paid Rs 1.50 crore as deposit and approximately Rs 1.01 crore for registration agreement.
