This was the visitors second Test win in Trent Bridge, with their previous win coming back in 2007.
Kohli had played knocks of 97 runs and 103 runs in the first and second innings respectively. While he had built a 159-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane in the first innings, his 113-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara in the second innings was equally important.
Jos Buttler (106 runs) and Ben Stokes (62 runs) fought hard, but the team fell way short of the target.
In fact, Buttler had brought up his maiden Test century which in turn went in vain.

Preview
Virat Kohli-led India are just one wicket away from their opening win in the ongoing Test series against England, when the two teams lock horns on Day five of the third Test at Trent Bridge here on Wednesday.
Despite a controversial no-ball, Jasprit Bumrah ended Day four with his second five-wicket haul in the long format of the game. The Gujarat pacer could have dismissed Adil Rashid courtesy a catch by Virat Kohli in the 88th over had it not been for the error.
It seems mission impossible for the hosts, who are 210 runs away from victory, with James Anderson (8 runs) and Adil Rashid (30 runs) at the crease.
Jos Buttler’s century (106 runs) and Ben Stokes’ knock of 62 runs were the only positive takeaways for Joe Root’s men on Tuesday, with the captain himself being dismissed for an unlucky 13 runs.
