Marlon Samuels named Windies Cricketer of the year

Marlon Samuels and Stafanie Taylor received Player of the Year awards for men and women category at WICB’s annual award function held in Antigua on Tuesday. At 258 runs for an average of 36.85 in the tri-series last month, Samuels, who scored the second highest runs after Australia’s Steven Smith, got awarded as the ODI Player of the Year as well as the Cricketer of the Year, according to espncricinfo.com.
In the 22 ODIs that Samuels has played since 2015, he has scored 859 runs which includes three centuries. He was also declared Man of the Match when he helped his team clinch the World T20 title that was held in India after scoring 85 off 66 balls.
