Hyderabad: Mohammed Kayum struck an unbeaten double century, P. Sai Vrath Reddy hit a huge hundred, Sumeet Joshi and Trishank Gupta scalped eight and seven wickets respectively to emerge top performers in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s two-day league action here on Thursday. In a Plate division match, Kayum struck 31 boundaries in his 218 not out to help Manchester declare their innings at 461 for 6 against Deccan Blues. Kayum was well-supported by B. Raj Kumar, who slammed 17 fours and three sixes in his 126.
Sai Vrath Reddy hit 30 fours and a six in his 186 that took Agarwal Senior to 303 against Balaji Colts, who were reeling at 59 for 5 at the end of the day. The match between National and Green Turf threw up performers on either side. While Gren Turf off-spinner Trishank took 7 for 51 to reduce National to 107 for 9, left-arm spinner Sumeet Joshi’s 8 for 39 ensured Green Turf were bundled out for 99.
In another match, right-arm pacer Narsimha of Classic took 5 for 45 to bowl Oxford Blues out for 160. In the Elite division, Crown off-spinners Alankrit Agarwal (5 for 42) and K. Sai Purnanand Rao (5 for 52) bowled Brothers XI out for 147 but their own team was struggling at 81 for 6 by close of play.
