Mumbai: All candidates who were interviwed for Team India coach position were asked a common question — how will you take India to the No. 1 ranking? — it is learnt here.
The Indian candidates were not even asked the likely salary they would demand for the post. According to Kolkata-based sources, all candidates were made “comfortable” in their individual rooms and they could not interact with each other.
“We were kept in the dark about the identity of other candidates as were not able to cross the path also,” one player. who appeared for the interview on Tuesday, said. “I gave a presentation, which lasted about 45 minutes,” he said.
Sachin was on video conference and other members of the Cricket Advisory Committee were present.
The committee is likely to forward the names of their preferred candidates to the Board soon.
