IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla: BCCI not concerned over Mohammed Shami's personal matter

IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla said BCCI was awaiting the report from the BCCI's anti-corruption unit head, Neeraj Kumar.

Mumbai: The future of Team India bowler Mohammed Shami hangs in balance after a public spat with wife Hasin Jahan. The couple has been in headlines after Jahan claimed Shami of having extramarital affairs, match-fixing and domestic violence.

The former Kolkata Knight Riders cheerleader( Hasin Jahan) also claimed that Shami took money from Pakistani women named Alishba in Dubai. Based on her claim's BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA) had requested Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) to dig more information on the allegation leveled against the cricketer.

Speaking on the whole issue IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla said BCCI was awaiting the report from the BCCI's anti-corruption unit head, Neeraj Kumar on allegations.

“Our anti-corruption unit, headed by Neeraj Kumar, will investigate and give us a report. We are awaiting it. We are expecting the report shortly,” said Shukla.

He further added “We are not concerned over his private matters. As soon as he (Kumar) gives the report we will decide. The investigation is still on. It's Neeraj Kumar's job to investigate it,”

After reports of Bengal pacers involvement in match fixing emerged, Alishba came out and confirmed that she met the team India pacer in Dubai but denied that she handed any money to Indian fast bowler.

Mohammed Bhai, another name in the case also come out in support of Shami, quashing Jahan’s allegations of monetary transaction or match-fixing against him, making it clear that he personally does not know Alishba.
