Visakhapatnam: Vizag city is gearing up for the India-Australia T20 series opener that will be held on February 24 at the ACA-VDCA Stadium.

Almost all of the 23,000 tickets have been sold online over the past fortnight, and only the more expensive ones – worth Rs 500 or higher, are available, said the ACA.

Revealing details about the preparations and security arrangements, chairman of conducting committee who also heads the Visakhapatnam Port Trust, M.T. Krishna Babu, said that the committee is fully ready for the T20 cricket match this coming Sunday.

Banners and flags made of cloth and paper will be allowed inside the stadium during the match, he said. Mr Krishna Babu urged cricket fans not to bring water bottles inside the stadium in view of the security arrangements.

Vizag police commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddha urged the people to be careful not to bring a bad name to the city.

Around 1,400 police personnel will be deployed to avoid any unwanted incident during the match.

Earlier, the conducting committee, along with officials from ACA and VDCA, went around the stadium and reviewed the arrangements.
