Here's what Steve Smith learnt from Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Kane Williamson

Steve Smith recently led Australia to an Ashes triumph over England in January.

Mumbai: Australian skipper Steve Smith has been enjoying a good run of form over the past few months. Having scored 1754 runs from 24 matches last year, including seven centuries and as many fifties, Smith led Australia to a dominant Ashes victory at home turf recently.

In an interview with cricket.com.au recently, the 28-year-old Aussie opened up about his style of playing certain shots and whom he got inspiration from.

The New South Wales cricketer said that he has learnt something from how India captain Virat Kohli plays spin.

"I have learnt a little bit of Virat Kohli, the way he plays spin and the way he hits the ball through the offside. I have probably learnt a little bit out of that,” he said.

He also added as to what he has learnt from AB de Villiers’ style of play.

“I have copied a bit of what AB de Villiers has done. I just open ,myself and set myself to play the ball, especially when the ball is reversing,” he added.

He also stated that he used to bat like New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

“A few years ago, I tried to bat like Kane Williamson, play the ball really late. I look at different people, the way they play, what works for them and sometimes try and incorporate them into my game,” he continued.

He also added that these cricketers were some of the best cricketers in the world.

“I just try and learn. These guys are the best players in the world for reasons. You try and get whatever you can out of it,” he concluded.
