IPL 2018: Here's the complete list of 24 England cricketers in players' auction

Ben Stokes and Joe Root lead the list on whom all the eight franchisees have their eyes on.

Mumbai: England superstars Ben Stokes and Joe Root will lead the list of 24 English cricketers on whom all the eight franchisees have their eyes on in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) player’s auction, which is set to take place in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28.

All-rounder Ben Stokes made his IPL debut last season where he played for Rising Pune Supergiant led by Steve Smith. The left hander scores 316 runs in 12 matches and also picked up 12 wickets.

Stokes who was left out of England’s Ashes squad, due to an undergoing investigation in the Bristol night club incident is expected to make a comeback for England during the T20I Tri-Series in New Zealand. The 26-year-old (if available) has entered the auction with base price of Rs 2 crore.

Joe Root has also thrown his hat in this year’s auction. Ever since making his international debut in 2012, the England captain has grown from strength to strength and established himself as one of the best batsmen in the game. In 2017, Root decided to give the tournament a miss in order to spend some time with his newborn son Alfred. This year the right hander has entered the auction with base price of Rs 2 crore.

Apart from Stokes and Root, ODI skipper Eoin Morgan, wicketkeeper in limited over format Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Jason Roy, Sam Billings are some England cricketers, who have already played in the cash rich league in the earlier season.
