Rajiv Gandhi U-19 Championship: Telangana, Hyderabad in semis
Telangana, Hyderabad and Rajasthan continued their emphatic performances to advance into the semifinals of the ongoing the Rajiv Gandhi Under-19 National Twenty20 Cricket Championship being conducted by the Cricket Federation of Hyderabad.
Opting to bat first, Telangana scored 138/6 in 20 overs as Pratyush contributed a much-needed 28 and Hitesh was unbeaten on 31. Araveen scalped three wickets for Chennai.
In response, Chennai could not cross the finish line and were restricted for 118 for 6 in 20 overs due to Taha’s brilliant bowling effort. Taha was awarded the Man of the Match for his three wickets for 14.
In the other match, Hyderabad came out guns blazing against Chennai as they put up a mammoth total of 196/3 in 20 overs. Junaid Ali and K. Ashish were unbeaten at 57 and 44 respectively. While chasing, Hyderabad were bowled out for a paltry 87. Santosh Ali was the highest run scorer for the losing team with 45. Junaid Ali was awarded Man of the Match for an unbeaten half-century.
The match between Karnataka and Andhra was a one-sided affair in which Andhra were bowled out for a mere 66 in 18.2 overs.
Later, Karnataka successfullychased down the total in 14.2 overs with six wickets in hand. Hemanth hit 22 while Anirudh claimed all four wickets of Karnataka.
