Sack BCCI office bearers: Lodha panel tells SC

The Lodha panel also recommended that ex-home secretary GK Pillai be appointed as the BCCI observer.

New Delhi: Justice RM Lodha committee has asked for all the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office bearers to be sacked, in a report submitted to the Supreme Court, on Monday.

The committee has also asked for the SC's permission to sack all the BCCI and state federation office bearers, who fail to fulfill the criteria that it laid.

The Lodha panel, in its report, also asked the SC to appoint former home secretary GK Pillai to supervise the Indian cricket board’s operations, as an observer, it has been learnt.

According to the Lodha report, Pillai will have to appoint new auditors for BCCI, as the new observer, apart from overseeing the overall operations.

In its report, the Lodha committee has also asked the SC for the power to appoint the secretarial staff of BCCI, and also decide the remuneration.

BCCI and Lodha panel have been at loggerheads, with the former suggesting that not all the recommendations by the SC-appointed committee can be implemented.

The SC is yet to accept the propositions put forth in the Lodha panel's report.
