Craig McMillan’s five-year stint as New Zealand batting coach comes to an end after his team’s brilliant 2019 World Cup run.

Mumbai: Craig McMillan’s five-year stint as New Zealand batting coach comes to an end after his team’s brilliant World Cup run in the 2019 World Cup. The former kiwi batsman confirmed the same on his twitter handle. McMillan was involved in New Zealand’s two back-to-back run as World Cup finalists.

With the end of his term, the BlackCaps batting coach penned down an emotional tweet, stating that the Kiwi batting coach spent a wonderful time working with the special group, who are still impressing with their highest level of commitment and sportsmanship.

McMillan’s tweet read, "Now that my time as batting coach has finished with the @BLACKCAPS I wanted to say how proud I am to have had 5 years working with the various players & support staff. They are a special group who continue to achieve at the highest level with humility, sportsmanship & do NZ proud.”

McMillan declared his decision in February 2019. McMillan helped New Zealand in becoming one of the formidable sides of the world.

During McMillan’s stint, the Kiwis failed to win the World Cup for the second time in a row. After McMillan’s exit, the Kiwis are yet to announce his replacement. McMillan's has played 55 Tests, 197 ODIs and eight T20Is. He played for a decade as a New Zealand batsman.
