Did you know? Shoaib Akhtar was offered big role in this Bollywood movie
Mumbai: Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has had a phenomenal cricket career, spanning over a decade.
But do you know that Akhtar was offered to play a big role in Mahesh Bhatt's film Gangster? Bhatt wanted Shoaib Akhtar to play the role of the antagonist in the movie, which was later played by Shiney Ahuja. Akhtar himself had made the revelation in an old interview.
In the same interview, Akhtar had also stated that he had rejected the role for the sake of cricket. He had also revealed that he was offered small roles in several Bollywood movies but he had rejected those all.
However, some reports had also claimed that remuneration was the main reason behind rejecting those movie offers.
Reportedly, similar was the case when he was offered Sanghamitra Chaudhary's movie. He was reportedly offered Rs 1 crore, but he wanted as much as Rs 8 crore.
Shoaib was recently in the news for criticising skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed for his 'brainless captaincy'. He smalled Sarfaraz for not electing to bat first in the much-anticipated IND-PAK clash.
