MV Sridhar to supervise Virat Kohli's India in Windies after Anil Kumble resignation

Kumble resigned as India coach following differences with skipper Virat Kohli, meaning the team will be without head coach in West Indies.

Mumbai: With Anil Kumble resigning as India coach following differences with skipper Virat Kohli, India will be without head coach as they play 5 ODIs and a Twenty20 in West Indies. While Kumble’s one-year tenure as India coach was over, BCCI had extended his term till the West Indies tour. However, as Indian team left of the Caribbean, Kumble stayed back in London for ICC meeting.

While Kumble's resignation ended his successful, in terms of stats, one-year stint as India coach, it has left India with no head coach in West Indies even as batting coach Sanjay Bangar and fielding coach R Sridhar will be with the squad. As BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee is yet to take any call on who will be India's head coach, MV Sridhar - general manager of cricket operations to take care of the team.

"In the interim, the BCCI has deputed Dr. MV Sridhar, GM - Cricket Operations to supervise the Team Management for the West Indies tour," BCCI said in a media release.
