Hyderabad: K. Nithish Kumar Reddy continued his scintillating form by hitting yet another composed century as Andhra Under 16 finished Day One at 319/8 against Goa in their Vijay Merchant Trophy fifth round match at the NFC Grounds here on Tuesday. Opting to bat, Andhra’s batters made a good start but failed to stay long at the crease. However, the in-form Nithish stood firm at one end and dispatched 15 boundaries to reach 134 before he was trapped leg-before wicket by Manish P. Kakode. Shaik Kamil (23 n.o) and Asif (31) were at the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.
Meanwhile at the Gymkhana Grounds, Hyderabad managed to reduce Tamil Nadu to 50 for 2 after they were bowled out 161. N. Takur Tilak Varma, with 47, was the highest scorer for the home side. At the ECIL Grounds, Karnataka finished the day at 73 for 1 and are trailing Kerala by 73 runs. Earlier, Kerala were dismissed for 146 in 60.2 overs.
