Virat Kohli 32 runs away from achieving this massive record

Kohli will be the sixth cricketer to achieve this milestone after Graeme Smith, Allan Border, Ricky Ponting, Clive Llyod and Steve Fleming.

Mumbai: After crushing Bangladesh in the first Test match by 130-runs and an innings, India will be looking to make a mark in their first-ever Day-night Test match by defeating Bangladesh in the second and final match of the two-game series.

Skipper Virat Kohli, who during the first Test, registered a feat by becoming the Indian captain with most number of innings win, will be looking to stamp his dominance and score a ton to be the first Indian to achieve 5000 runs as captain.

Kohli, who missed out on two records in the last match, needs 32 more runs to add another feather to his bag of records. If he manages to score 32 or above, the Indian captain will be the sixth cricketer to achieve this milestone after Graeme Smith, Allan Border, Ricky Ponting, Clive Llyod and Steve Fleming.

In the last match, the 31-year-old got out on zero and missed on two big feats – to be the second cricketer with most Test centuries as captain and equalise Ricky Ponting’s record of tons as captain in all formats.

Moreover, the skipper also failed to dethrone former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly from the list of Indian players with most Test runs.

Coming back to the match, Virat Kohli and his players will have to up the ante so as to counter the pink ball at the historic venue. The second Test match will be played with a pink Sanspareils Greenlands.

With the second Test is scheduled to start on Friday, November 22, the BCCI will also get an opportunity to see how the pink ball works, before switching to the Day-Night Tests.

Additionally, the BCCI recently used the pink balls in the Duleep Trophy. Meanwhile, Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has also cautioned his teammates that it will be difficult to judge the direction of ball.
