Rumours are that Dhoni had donned the blue jersey for India for the last time during the World Cup semi-final defeat against New Zealand.

Mumbai: MS Dhoni's retirement speculations have been grabbing all the headlines since India's exit from the ICC World Cup 2019. Rumours are that Dhoni had donned the blue jersey for India for the last time during the World Cup semi-final defeat against New Zealand.

The selection panel is scheduled to meet on Sunday to choose squads for the West Indies tour. One main element of the meeting will be to take a decision on the 38-year-old's future.

The former skipper had also taken some tough decisions to phase out a few legends from his team, as reported by Times of India.

Before the 2008 tri-series in Australia, Dhoni had taken a bold move of proposing selectors to drop players like Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid from the ODI squad due to their inefficiency in the fielding department.

India eventually ended up winning the tournament and players like Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir emerged on the international scene. In the CB tri-series in 2012, Dhoni also had taken a gamble of playing only two of Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir till the last league game against Sri Lanka, apparently because they were considered as 'slow movers'.
