Hyderabad: B. Chandrashekar, SK Mohammed, B. Bhagath Varma, P. Saketh Sai Ram and Mehdi Hasan were the best performers in Tuesday’s action in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division league matches here.
Cambridge’s Chandrashekar slammed the third century of the season as his side replied to Sporting XI’s 424 with 342 on the second day of their three-day match. The centurion slammed 15 boundaries and three sixes in his 113-ball knock.
The match between Ensconse and Jai Hanuman threw up performers from either side. After Ensconse left-arm spinner Mehdi Hasan took 6 for 47 to restrict their rivals to 171 in their first innings for a slender lead of 45 runs, Jai Hanuman hit back through off-spinner Saketh Sai Ram who snared 5 for 42 to bundle Ensconse out for 129 in their second innings. Jai Hanuman were 78 for 3 in their second essay, needing 97 more for a win.
The game between R. Dayanand and Charminar also had performers from either side. While Charminar’s Mohammed slammed 131, Bhagath took 5 wickets while conceding 104 runs.
Pushkar, Williams best in 2-day action
Performances galore in the two-day league as well, prominent among whom were Valluru Pushkar of Saleemnagar and Apex’s Arun Williams. Pushkar took 5 for 47 and then slammed a century (108, 119b, 29x4) for an allround show while Williams returned with identical figures of 5 for 57 in both innings.
Adnan of Sri Shyam also took 5 for 71 while Saleemnagar’s Abdul Sami Ansari had impressive figures of 6 for 48.
Postal’s S. Kranti Kumar (148), Murki Vikas (6 for 92) of Kosaraju, MA Azeem Warsi (5 for 51) of Brothers XI and MCC’s Srinivas Yadav (5 for 63) were the others who did well in the two-day league.
