Mumbai: Defending champions Mumbai Indians haven’t been able to announce themselves yet in the tournament. They have been poor starters and have struggled to get their combinations right.
Mumbai Indians coach Ricky Ponting admitted batting has let them down so far. “Bowling has been pretty good right throughout the tournament but we haven’t had good runs on the board. We had very good win in Kolkata chasing, otherwise batting hasn’t been good enough. We have found ways back in the game at times but haven’t been able to dominate,” Ponting said. Ponting also backed under fire Buttler. “Buttler played a match winning innings in Kolkata. He was unlucky in last two games with the way he got out. He is a great striker an we will definitely stick with him for a while,” he added.
