Video: Sourav Ganguly gets into argument with fellow passenger on train
Kolkata: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly had a rather bumpy journey from Kolkata to Balurghat, in the northern parts of West Bengal, as he seemingly got into a tussle with a fellow passenger.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) chief, who was travelling on the Padatik Express, entered the Sealdah station in Kolkata, flanked by a number of police constables.
However, upon reaching his first class AC coach, the ‘Prince of Calcutta’ found his seat occupied by another passenger. Amid all the chaos that ensued, Ganguly and the other passenger were seen arguing about who the seat belonged to.
Footage of the reservation charts showed that the seat was reserved in the name of one “S. Ganguli”, which may have created the confusion.
The former India captain ultimately had to shift to an AC two-tier coach.
Sourav Ganguly was on his way to Balurghat to unveil a statue of himself at the Bikash Maidan. The statue, which is eight-feet-high, was sculpted by Siliguri-based sculptor Sushanta Pal, who has never met the former cricketer in person.
