Team India skipper Virat Kohli set to play under new captain at Surrey

Kohli is all set to feature in three list A and three First-Class games before series against England.

New Delhi: Team India skipper Virat Kohli is currently hoping for a miracle as his team Royal Challengers season hangs by thread. The men in red and black are currently in 5th position in the Indian Premier league points table and win in the final game will see them boost their chances of making it to the play-offs.

After the end of cash rich league, the team India skipper will be flying to England to play for Surrey in English county which was confirmed this month. The right-handed batsman will be giving miss to the historic one-off Test against Afghanistan.

Virat Kohli, who will play in three list A and three First-Class games will be captained by Rory Burns during his county stint. The decision to play the county comes after the 29-year-old has a poor series last time around scoring 134 runs from 10 innings at a poor average of 13.40.

As per the schedule, India will kick off the tour with three T20Is, followed by three ODIs and five-match Test series. Before the start of England tour, India will play two T20Is against Ireland on June 27 and 29.

If Kohli decides to play the 2nd T20 against Ireland, he then will have to fly from England to Ireland the same day when his last First-class fixture ends.
