Following his knock of 30 as MI beat Capitals (DC) on Thursday Rohit joined Kohli and Raina in the 8000-run list in T20 cricket.

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma may have had a fluctuating season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the 31-year-old also became the third Indian to score 8000 runs in T20 cricket.

Following his knock of 30 as MI beat Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday, the top-order batsman joined Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina in the 8000-run list in the game’s shortest format.

Rohit just needed 12 runs ahead of the game against the Capitals to achieve the feat.

Following their 40-run win, MI (12 points) are now just two points behind Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

DC remain on third place with 10 points whereas Kings XI Punjab are fourth with the same number of points as DC.
