Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar? S Sreesanth picks his favourite Indian batsman
Mumbai: Just days after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul preferred Virat Kohli as a better cricket captain over Sachin Tendulkar, banned cricketer S Sreesanth weighed in on the debate.
While the former Kerala bowler said he respect Kohli for his achievements, he went onto add that a player like Sachin will never be replaced.
“Everybody calls him Sachin bhai but I address him (Sachin Tendulkar) as paaji for a reason. I respect Virat for whatever he has done but Sachin paaji can never be replaced or can never be compared to any other new or old cricketer. Sachin Tendulkar for the next 1000 generations will be someone who gave hope to the small cricketers like me never even thought that I could play club cricket,” the 35-year-old said to Latestly.
Sreesanth was banned from playing any form of cricket following his alleged involvement in the controversial Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal in 2013, while representing Rajasthan Royals (RR).
