S Sreesanth fumes at worst decision ever'

In an attempt to script more dramatic stories in the game, the 34-year-old had started cricket drills at a specialised centre in Chennai.

KOCHI: From performing ‘paddle yoga’ to lifting weights in the gym to reliving the tenth anniversary of India’s triumph in 2007 ICC World Twenty20, S. Sreesanth was shaping up for a return to cricket since a single bench of the Kerala High Court lifted his life-ban last month. Ten years ago, still a fiery speedster, Sreesanth had gobbled up Misbah-ul-Haq’s cheeky attempt to clear fine-leg off Joginder Sharma’s bowling that gifted India its maiden T20 world title. In an attempt to script more dramatic stories in the game, the 34-year-old had started cricket drills at a specialised centre in Chennai.

It is understood that Sreesanth was contemplating a return to the Kerala Ranji Trophy team under Australian Dav Whatmore, at least midway through the season. But the Kerala HC division bench order Tuesday dealt a massive blow to his aspirations. The court's observation brought back Sreesanth of the old – temperamental and not averse to controversies. In a series of tweets, the former Test cricket vented his anger and was met with a number of fan responses that empathised with the bowler.

“This is the worst decision ever.. special rule for me? What about real culprits? What about Chennai Super Kings? And what about Rajasthan?” Sreesanth tweeted. While the cricketer re-posted an Instagram message that translated to “I will keep fighting” he also dug deep into more controversies. “And what about the accused 13 names in Lodha report?? No one wants to know about it? I will keep fighting for my right.. God is great” Sreesanth tweeted.
