Watch: Focused MS Dhoni bats in nets ahead of Asia Cup opener vs Hong Kong

Dhoni, who retired from Tests in 2014, last played an ODI during India's three-match series against hosts England in July.

Dubai: India’s premier wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen playing a few shots in the nets ahead of his country’s Asia Cup 2018 opener against Hong Kong.

India are grouped with Hong Kong and arch rivals Pakistan, whom they will face on Wednesday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) official Twitter handle had uploaded a video of the veteran practicing.

“In focus and in the zone @msdhoni #TeamIndia #AsiaCup2018,” was the caption.

Dhoni, who retired from Tests in 2014, last played an ODI during India’s three-match series against hosts England in July.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been rested for the multi-nation tournament following a hectic tour to the United Kingdom.

Rohit Sharma is captaining the side in Kohli’s absence.
