League match: Rudra, Zaidi, Ashish grab spotlight in second division
Hyderabad: Rudra Dande, Zaidi Aarish were the best batsmen on Thursday while Ashish Srivastav flew high after taking six-wicket haul in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s second division two-day league matches played here at various grounds.
Rudra’s heroic 167 which came in 127 balls catapulted Rohit XI’s to 380. The right-handed batsman played with ease, his belligerent knock comprised 21 boundaries and five maximums.
Uday Singh of Vijay Hanuman scalped five wickets while conceding 78 runs. However, Hanuman’s bowlers couldn’t stop Rudra’s rampage. At stumps Jai Hanuman were 65/3.
In another match, Budding Stars’ Ashish Srivastav picked six wickets to help his team bundle out Apex CC for a paltry 166 and registered a four-wicket victory. The leg-spinner was not too expensive as he conceded 43 runs while picking six wickets. His fine figures read 19-4-43-6.
Rohit Sreenivas made an unbeaten 85 for Budding Stars as his team had last laugh by taking five points.
In another match, HBCC rode on Zaidi’s tremendous innings as he hammered 153 to boost his team score to 302. Batting first HBCC declared at 302/9 even as Sri Shyam’s bowlers Shivang Yadav and Priyanshu Jain snapped four and three wickets each.
Meanwhile, Md. Ibrahim Ali Siddiqui (5/4), Ratan Teja (5/70), P. Vishal Singh (5/43), Trishank Gupta (5/58), Ch. Aswad Rajiv (5/91), Md. Faizanuddin (5/78) had a good day with the ball.
