India squad for first 3 England Tests announced; Pant picked, Bumrah to miss opener
Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced an 18-member Indian squad for the first three Tests against England, including uncapped Rishab Pant.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Leeds to pick the Indian Cricket Team for the first three Tests of the upcoming 5-match Test series against England.,” said a BCCI media release.
Wriddhiman Saha was dropped from the squad after suffering an injury, and he did not feature in the lone Afghanistan Test in June as well.
Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not included but his condition would be assessed soon.
“Bhuvneshwar Kumar aggrevated a lower back condition in the 3rd ODI against England. His condition is being assessed by the BCCI medical team and a call on his inclusion in the Test squad will be made soon,” a BCCI media release said.

Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur.
