London: Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal seems to catch the eye of his critics even when he’s not in the cricketing spotlight. The Pakistan cricket team batsman, who is currently spending in London, was brutally trolled on the social media after he posted a picture of himself along with the caption “enjoying London after hard work”.

Trolls were soon raining cats and dogs on Twitter that forced Akmal to reply to the negative comments and the Pakistani batsman insisted his fans to put an end to the negative remarks.

However, if Umar felt the tweet would calm his critics, he was completely mistaken. More and more insults and teasing remarks poured in for the Pakistani cricketer, with few of his fans stating the criticism was constructive.

Since his arrival in Pakistan cricket, Umar Akmal was hailed as one of the country’s brightest talents. However, he failed to live to the hype with injuries and bad form playing a major part in his downfall. Umar was also recently selected to represent Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy but failed multiple fitness tests that hindered his selection and he was sent back to Pakistan from England.
Things continued to get bitter for him as he was also omitted from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s list of players eligible for getting national contracts. It was also reported that Pakistan Cricket Board may probe him and Mohammad Sami in connection with spot-fixing.
