Ex-India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar criticised for tweet about Tamil Nadu politics

Mumbai: Sanjay Manjrekar is a well-known voice among the cricket fans across the world. The former Team India cricketer-turned-commentator has been one who can analyse a match perfectly on the mic.

However, his opinion on politics is not something that people enjoy…or so it seems.

Manjrekar recently tweeted what he thought about Tamil Nadu politics.

The state of Tamil Nadu has been left in political turmoil after the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, last year.

While O Panneerselvam resigned earlier, VK Sasikala was set to take over as the next CM of the state. However, Sasikala was convicted by the Supreme Court for disproportionate assets.

Now the TN assembly hangs in the balance as the MLAs go for a floor test to decide whether OPS or Palanisamy would be elected as the next CM.

However, Manjrekar’s tweet was not received well by the Twitteratti.

Some fans on the social media went on to criticise Manjrekar’s commentary, where he has to pronounce difficult names.

Interestingly, a couple of fans took pot-shots at the former India cricketer, spelling his name in weird manners.
