Visakhapatnam: The Test between India and England is the first Test hosted by the Dr YSR Reddy ACA-VDCA stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The stadium is India’s 24th Test centre and it comes as no surprise that the local organisers did all they can to ensure a smooth Test.
The organisers on Wednesday performed a puja, adjacent to the Visakhapatnam pitch. Indian coach Anil Kumble also joined the priest in performing the ‘pitch pravesh puja’.

"The pooja was to keep all the troubles away from the game. Also, the mahurat was at around that time (around 9.30am), hence we could not delay it any further," an ACA official was quoted as saying by DNA.
