Safi Darashah Trophy cricket tournament: Bangalore Zone draw with President's XI

Bengaluru: Bangalore Zone put out a strong batting performance as they drew with President's XI in the Safi Darashah Trophy cricket tournament here on Saturday.

Chasing a first innings score of 293, Bangalore Zone continued from their overninght score of 66/1 and rode on half centuries from Arjun Hoysala (65), Shishir Bhavane (54), Liyan Khan (82) and Rohith Gowda (70 n.o) to put up 352 and take a first innings advantage. This proved crucial as the total granted them three points from the draw as opposed to one for President’s XI.

At the end of the match, President’s XI were 37/1 in 18 overs in their second innings. In the other tie, Vice President’s XI and Combined XI played out yet another draw.
