South Africa vs India: Virat Kohli shuts down reporter post Centurion Test loss
Centurion: Virat Kohli has been an aggressive and positive captain at all times. The Delhi cricketer has a fantastic home record, and his captaincy skills were tested once again in the ongoing Test series against South Africa.
Speaking after India’s 135-run loss to South Africa in the second Test, Kohli was asked about the strategy behind changing teams in each and every match, to which he replied “Wherever we do we try to do our best. I am here to answer your questions and not to fight.”
Kohli was speaking during the post-match press conference, and here is how a conversation between him and a journalist turned out.
Reporter: You have changed your Test line-up in each and every match you have played. To win Test matches, you need to look at a lot of consistency, and you guys have been lacking that part. How can you continue changing your team and expect different results?
Virat: How many Test matches have you won out of 34?
Reporter: In How many Test matches have you changed your side?
Virat: 21 wins, two losses, how many draws?
Reporter: How many in India?
Virat: It does’nt matter. Wherever we do we try to do our best. I am here to answer your questions, not to fight with you.
Despite showcasing a fighting effort against Faf du Plessis-led South Africa, Lungi Ngidi took six wickets to bowl out India to a paltry total of 151, giving the hosts a 135-run win.
The third Test will be played from January 24 at Johannesburg.
