Indian cricketer Ishant Sharma’s wife, Pratima Singh, is not much interested in cricket. But she will be keenly watching Sharma’s first over, rather the first delivery of his first over in Australia’s second innings. The reason? Ishant Sharma is on a hat-trick delivery in the second innings. Sharma’s last two deliveries in Australia’s first innings grabbed the wickets of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, both caught by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. “Yes, I am excited to watch his first over. I and my family will watch his match and cheer for him,” she said speaking exclusively to DC. However, Ishant’s spouse and family must be hoping that his first delivery is not a no ball because wicket off a no ball is not considered as a hat-trick. “No. it wouldn’t be considered as a hat-trick. But will just be a footnote record!,” informs India’s renowned cricket statistician Mohandas Menon.
“More than curiosity I have confidence in his hard work. I know he will perform his best as he has always done,” Mrs. Sharma further added. Ishant and Pratima are one of the most high profile sporting couples in India. However, Ishant met Pratima by accident. He met her at a local basketball tournament in Delhi which was being organised by his friend and Prati-ma’s sister. Ishant Sharma was a chief guest in the function. Pratima was a scorer that day.
