Love your neighbour! Virat Kohli most searched cricketer on Google in Pakistan

Mumbai: Virat Kohli has cemented his reputation as one of the finest batsmen in the modern game. The India skipper enjoys a massive fan following all around the globe, and is lauded not only for his batting abilities, but also for his fitness and fashion standards.

The India talisman also shares a good bond with players from Pakistan and is also adored by the masses of the neighbouring country. Even to a point where Pakistan fans have sharply criticised their own players and advised them to follow Kohli's footsteps.

Interestingly, the 29-year-old is the most followed cricketer in Pakistan, even more than players of the Pakistan cricket team.

According to Google Trends, Kohli was the most searched cricketer in Pakistan from December 18, 2016, to December 9, 2017. India’s run-machine even left behind the likes of Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, speedster Mohammad Amir and Ahmed Shehzad, who is often compared to Kohli.

Kohli, who has currently opted for rest from the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka at home, is currently spending his honeymoon with newly-wed wife Anushka Sharma in Rome after tying the knot a week earlier.

Many Pakistani cricketers also extended their love and greeting to the couple on Twitter, for embarking on a new journey in life. Mohammed Amir, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Akmal were among those to wish the couple.
