Hyderabad Cricket Association hits another hurdle
Hyderabad: The affairs of the Hyderabad Cricket Association turned complex on Thursday with the Registrar of Societies terming the amendment to the bye-laws carried out at the Annual General Meeting held on May 29 this year extending the tenure of the executive body null and void.
The amendments were made not in tune with the bye-laws of the HCA, the Registrar of Societies, Ranga Reddy district, held. According to the HCA constitution, the amendments ought to have been made at a Special General Meeting convened for such a purpose, the Registrar said in a letter. As the amendments were without proper notice (14 -days) as per bye-laws, they are null and void, the letter read.
However, the ruling body is preparing to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the official. “A writ petition in this regard, to which the Registrar was party, was dismissed by the Honourable High Court in September. We will fight this legally,” HCA secretary K. John Manoj said.
