With that, the Women in Blue reached the semifinal of the multi-nation tournament.
As a result, the 35-year-old achieved some notable feats as she became the highest run-getter in T20Is among men’s cricketers surpassing New Zealand’s Martin Guptill (2271 runs) . Mithali currently has scored 2283 runs for India in T20Is.
With her 17th T20I fifty on Thursday, she also joined New Zealand’s Suze Bates, Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Pakistan’s Babar Azam in terms of the most 50-plus scores in a calendar year.
Before Harmanpreet Kaur’s India women play their semifinal, they have a huge task in hand as they face Australia in their final group game here on Saturday.
