Royal Challengers Bangalore tweets Virat Kohli-MS Dhoni photo to Chennai Super Kings
Bengaluru: The city of Chennai and the fans of MS Dhoni and Co are delighted with the news of Chennai Super Kings’ comeback to the Indian Premier League following the two-year suspension. However, it seems the fans are not the only ones who are awaiting CSK’s comeback. CSK’s rival Royal Challengers Bangalore took to Twitter to get involved in a healthy banter with their southern rival.
On the occasion of India’s 71st Independence Day, the Virat Kohli-led side, who struggled in the tenth edition of the tournament, tweeted:
“.@ChennaiIPL We’ve missed the South Indian derby! Waiting to #PlayBoldTogether in the 2018 #VIVOIPL! Happy #IndependenceDay!,”

CSK were quick to respond as it tweeted:

“Can’t wait! #whistlepodu together soon!,” tweeted the social media handle of CSK.
CSK and Rajasthan Royals (RR) were banned from playing the league in 2015 following the spot-fixing allegations. The two teams were replaced by Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The ban on the CSK and RR was officially lifted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last month when the board welcomed back to the cash-rich league.
Following the official announcement of CSK's comeback, MS Dhoni, who captained the team since the inaugural season of IPL, posted a cryptic photo on Instagram.
