Rahane enters top 10, Ashwin on top of allrounders' list

India's Test captain Virat Kohli dropped three places from 13th to 16th place.

Dubai: Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane jumped three places to enter the top-10 in batsman's list while Ravichandran Ashwin maintained his pole position among all-rounders in the latest Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Rahane, who was 11th in the last list is currently 8th and the only Indian in the top-10 led by Australian skipper Steve Smith.

India's Test captain Virat Kohli dropped three places from 13th to 16th place.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Younis Khan made a comeback among the world's top five batsmen following his commanding double century against England at The Oval.

Younis returned to fifth position in the standings after his 218, his sixth double century at this level, set up Pakistan's 10-wicket win in the fourth Test at The Oval on Sunday, a result which saw them draw the four-match series with England at 2-2.

The 38-year-old veteran started the series in fifth position but dropped out of the top 10 following a run of low scores before his Oval heroics.

In the bowlers' list, Ashwin and Jadeja were static at 2nd and 6th position respectively with James Anderson, England's all-time leading wicket-taker, remaining top of the Test bowling rankings.
