Mumbai Indians vs Rising Pune Supergiant: MS Dhoni tonks a few ahead of IPL playoffs
Mumbai: From being ridiculed for their performance in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League to be a couple of wins away from IPL glory, Rising Pune Supergiant’s have come a long way.
The Sanjeev Goenka-owned side would be keen to continue their solid run of form and storm into final as they take on Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 1 of IPL 2017.
With Ben Stokes, who was vital to RPS journey till playoffs leaving IPL to join England squad in Spain for a training camp, onus will be on MS Dhoni to play a big role in RPS’ middle order. And the former India skipper, who had a rather patchy IPL season this time around, is getting ready to put up his hands, like he had done so often in the past, and take the Steve Smith-led into the finals.
Dhoni, who engineered one of the best moments of India’s cricket – the World Cup win in 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium, was captured hammering some big blows during the practice session ahead of the game against MI. And if those signs are anything to go by, MI could well taste their fourth defeat in 5 games against the Pune side.
