Mujeeb Zadran breaks Waqar Younis record as Afghanistan win ODI series vs Zimbabwe

The 16-year-old picked up 5 wickets for 50 runs to help Afghanistan seal series win.

New Delhi: Afghanistan young leg spinner Mujeeb Zadran made history on Friday, after becoming the youngest player to take five wicket haul in ODIs against Zimbabawe in the 4th ODI of the five-match series in Sharjah.

The 16-year-old picked up 5 wickets for 50 runs to help Afghanistan bowl out Zimbabawe for 134 runs.

He also went onto break Pakistan legend Waqar Younis' record who took his first five-for at the age of 18 years and 164 days.

Zadran recently played for Afghanistan at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.

The youngster grabbed the headlines in Indian Premier League players auction after being brought by from Kings XI Punjab for hefty price of Rs 4 crore.

Zadran became the third Afghanistan player to be bought by an IPL franchise after Rashid Khan (Rs 9 crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Mohammad Nabi (Rs 1 crore to SRH).
